How the Underwater Sculpture Center created a new sculpture in an underwater setting:
Recode is reporting that the underwater sculpture center, which opened in 2015, is a collaboration between Disney, the Walt Disney Company, and the New York City Department of Environmental Protection.
Underwater sculptures are designed to capture the imagination of the water and convey a sense of exploration, the center’s website reads.
In addition to its underwater work, the sculpture center also has work in water in areas like underwater parks, underwater theaters, underwater resorts, and underwater museums.
The center’s underwater sculpture collection includes works by Leonardo da Vinci, Jules Verne, William Blake, and more.
Under water works can range from simple underwater sculptures to more complex works.
Disney bought the center in 2016 for $1.6 billion.
